The Return of Renfield

So, for the last con of the season, AFO, I've decided to take it up a notch from MetroCon. Same goggles, coat, pants, vest and hand-cage. What's new/changed:
-Top hat. I've actually never worn this one to a con before. It just felt a little over the top. Haha pun. But I think it's perfect for this incarnation (if you will) of Jonas. I've added a couple of huge ostrich plumes from my Barbossa hat, and a couple of other feathers, and a brown band made from some lovely scrap I had laying around. The cards you see are my new business cards!

-Respirator. I just finished making this thing today. It was originally a prototype for me to figure out the pattern so I could then change things and make it out of this beautiful dark reddish brown leather, but after it all came together, I decided I liked the shape and I should use up the fabric you see there. Originally, it was going to have only two ventilation things. I had a matching pair of the one in the bottom center, then one went missing as I was working on it. So I tried it with just one. It looked too boring and wasn't easy to breathe in, so I added the two big ones on the sides there. Plus, they're cog-shaped. Win win. The biggest plus about this thing is I don't have to constantly keep worrying about my moustache not being curled properly. And worrying about if the photo's going to be too bright and the stash will look all patchy. Usually in bright flash pictures, my stash looses some of it's epicness. :[

-Monoggle. I got it at MetroCon from the Outlanders' booth. Check them out if you're going to D*Con. Their booth is downright sexy. Hell, it actually has steam coming out of it. For real.

-Cravat. As much as I love the tie-em-everytime cravats I make, this is so much easier. I can put a brooch on it and not have to take the brooch off every time I take the cravat off. Plus it'll look delightful no matter how drunkenly I put it on. Also, I didn't have enough of that fabric for a full cravat. Also also, pleats. <3

-Brooch on the coat. I don't remember exactly where this came from. I remember seeing it pinned on my black and white striped coat Sunday morning at MetroCon. Saturday night was a gin-induced blur.

But yeah. That's it.
TL;DR version: NEW STUFF. YAY.

The only difference between this photo and how I'll look at the con might be smudgy eye makeup. Since that's my new thing for JMR.
